Atami Castle

Atami Castle is a castle where you can enjoy a spectacular view overlooking the city of Atami.

It is a castle tower-like structure built on a hill in 1959 for tourist purposes, and is a six-story reinforced concrete castle.

On the first floor of Atami Castle, there is a samurai culture museum exhibiting armor and Japanese swords, as well as an exhibition floor for ukiyo-e and shunga, and events where you can experience the Edo period. Not only Japanese people but also foreign tourists can enjoy Japanese history and culture.

It is also famous for its cherry blossom festival, where more than 200 Yoshino cherry trees bloom in Atami Castle Garden during the cherry blossom season.
